After residing in Germany for 7 years, I have been avidly seeking a good replacement for the German Coffee I enjoyed there. Cafe Sperl is the closest I have tasted. If you happen to make it too strong, it never tastes bitter. I have been buying this flavor for years and always considered it my special treat even when my budget was strained.

I've bought this for years because it's the best blend Gevalia makes! Nothing makes you feel as if you're sitting in one of those justly famous, fabulous cafés of Vienna like drinking this coffee.

One of my all time favorites. Bold taste with no bitterness. Europeans know good coffee and this is a blend that deserves the reputation as one of their best.

I love the flavor and boldness of Cafe Sperl. I have been drinking this coffee for about ten years. I try other flavor but I always go back to Cafe Sperl. I am a coffee snob and only Gevalia will do!

I've been drinking this blend since it was first available. Without question, it's our favorite coffee--full-bodied, aromatic, and smooth. It has a slight cinnamon aroma that is great to wake up to! An excellent coffee for anyone who loves dark roast.

I started drinking coffee in the Navy(strong & black) and this blend is the best I've ever had. I've been using it for many years and start my day with a large cup of black coffee, the way it's meant to be consumed. It's rich, smooth w/o any bitterness. After trying many of Gevalia's coffee selections, this is the only one I buy.

I have been a fan of Gevalia since 1994. I order Cafe Sperl on a regular basis because it is the only coffee that is consistently smooth, rich, non acidic and full of flavor. I have tried other coffees and always return to Cafe Sperl. I mix in a little Amaretto or Vanilla coffee from time to time for variety. But not too much since the overall essence of Cafe' Sperl needs to stand out.

I have included this coffee in every order for years. Though many coffees have been tried, Cafe' Sperl is the only one that I really enjoy. It is smooth and rich. I make it with one level T per cup. Serve with light milk/cream and Splenda sweetener.

This coffee is always appealing to me. Any season and for any occasion. It is one of my regular purchases and never disappoints me. I really cannot describe its uniqueness, but it is not acidic or bitter; always smooth, aromatic and flavorful. You can't go wrong in purchasing this, in my opinion. I will continue to buy this coffee online.

Excellent coffee. Definitely European style -- strong, but not bitter. I enjoy brewing this one Austrian style, by adding some cinnamon to the grounds.

Thoroughly enjoy this rich coffee that captures the true essence of an European coffee with no bitterness or after taste. Its has a perfect balance of body, not much acidity and not too strong that makes each cup heavenly.

Cafe Sperl is our primary, all day, coffee. Our guests comment on the "special" coffee served them. They are surprised with the concept that the best can be had all the time, not just occasionally. Several have decided that they too, should enjoy Sperl on a regular basis, and it may be served with cream, milk or black and it still excells..

The Cafe Sperl is an excellent choice. It really reminds me of the Cafes in Germany when I lived there many years ago. It is a dark, very rich coffee, but with no bitter tones. It is a true European "taste".
