I've been drinking DARK ROAST for about 20 years. It has body and strength, but is smooth with no bitterness. It is the only coffee I drink at home. The gourmet and chain coffee houses seem to believe that coffee should smell and taste like burnt toast. I've tried other blends of coffee, and Gevalia DARK ROAST is the only coffee I buy.

I am in the process od trying to find a decaff dark roast. This dark roast is flat tasting. The aroma is aweful and even in the bag smell like stale coffee. It is in a silver bag, but the box says it is in a gold bag. It also has no button on the silver bad to let out the air. I now have to get through 2 of these bags of coffee.
The french roast in decaff was better tasting, although still in a SILVER bag.
I would like my money back as well.

I love strong coffee and Gevalia's dark roast is the best dark roast that I have ever tasted. It is full bodied and never scorched or bitter tasting. I'm a coffee snob and I only drink Gevalia.

We love dark roasts in our home, and this is fantastic. It has such a pleasant flavor for a dark roast, fills the house with aroma and is nice and strong, but not bitter. Another favorite of ours!

I have had a subscription for Dark Roast for over 20 years. I have loved it as is and have also used it as a base for blending. I have recommended it over and over again. But, something has changed. My last two orders, the coffee came in a silver bag, (bag used to be gold) and the quality of the coffee has gone from gold quality to silver or maybe even bronze. Something has changed beside the color of the bag. It tastes like decaf, flat and uninspiring. I am using the same coffeemaker, water, and amount of coffee. Whatever changed, please change it back. I miss my coffee!

I have always shied away from dark roast coffees thinking that they would be too strong tasting & bitter...but I was so wrong. This Dark Roast has become my favorite. Such a nice mellow taste. I especially enjoy it in the winter although it is good anytime.

Dark roast has long been my ultimate favorite from Gevalia. After a short stay in Denmark, I realized that the stronger, bolder coffees common to northern Europe suited my taste better than anything else.
Never bitter, I grind my beans very fine to get the most of this robust coffee. Good any season, any time, any temperature, it has remained the first coffee I turn to when I want a superb cup of coffee.

I have tried all of the other full flavor/dark roast blends, and the Dark Roast by far, is the best. It is very smooth, not very acidic and is good for any time of day. The flavor beats any blend I have found on Gevalia, popular chains (Starbucks, Seattle's Best, etc), or the grocery store. I have been drinking this blend for at least 8 years and Gevalia for at least twice that long. I do not foresee ever needing to make a change.
