I love this coffee maker, and the ability to program it to have my pot of coffee ready early in the morning. It is very easy to use, although I would change a few things, such as... Make the time display area bigger, and illuminate blue. I would also like to see the area that you pour the water into, made easier. I find if I don't use a measuring cup with a pour spout, I spill water. Make it more user friendly, but all in all, I am happy, and still using it after approx 3 yrs. Thank you, Cynthia, WV. :)"

This coffee maker doesn't brew very hot. Have to heat in microwave. This is the second pot I received and they both did the same thing. The first did it so I contacted Gevalia and they sent the second one with same results. Will just stay with store bought like Mr Coffee.

I've had 3 of these in the last 3 years and they have all stopped working. Not worth the money. I will NEVER buy a Gevalia coffee maker again!

I've had mine, that I got on a promotion for $10 with coffee, for more than 5 years and it's so good that I came back here to buy a new one for my sister. Don't base everybody else's experience for your own. You had bad luck, this coffee maker is not bad at all.

We received one of these as a freebie a few years ago, and it served us very well. It fell a little short of optimum brewing temperature, but it did better than most drip-type coffee-makers. The timer worked well, and overall it was a very good appliance until it was dropped during a move. It seems to be overpriced, but average cost per year is still acceptable.

worked for 8 mts great ,made coffee hot and quick. taste was also good .made coffee one day and the next day nothing.light comes on, but will not make coffee. and warmer will not get hot .99 ducks? my 19 duck one worked much longer. glad it was a gift and I did not pay for it. jest wish it lasted longer!

Gevalia is VERY GOOD about replacing your product. They did it for me so just ask. That was some time ago and, so far, no problems with the replacement.

I received this coffeemaker with an introductary offer a long time ago, and just recently starting using it when my old "fancy"coffee pot finally died. I wasnt expecting much, but have been very happy with it. I like the way it looks and the way it brews. It is simple but has all the features that I need. I wonder--did the people who complained about how difficult it is to pour in the water READ THE INSTRUCTION BOOK?? First,pour the amount of water needed into the carafe, then rest the pouring spout on the edge of the water reservoir and it will rest secure while you pour. Then, place the carafe onto the warming plate. All in all this is a great coffeemaker. Im hoping mine will have longevity. I LUV Gevalia coffee and have been drinking for many years. I find no satisfactory sunstitute anywhere.

i just recieved this yesterday, and have only used it twice, so i cannot comment on longevity.
it is an attractive machine, not at all cheap looking, it functions as it should and the auto brew feature is great. i was so happy to wake up to find my coffee waiting for me this morning.
i got this with an intro offer, the coffee maker, and four boxes of coffee for significantly less than the listed price of this machine.
some have complained of finding coffee grounds in their coffee, i believe this may be due to a failure of the pause brew valve, slowing the drip of coffee, and causing the filter to overflow. if this happens i would suggest simply removing the valve, and letting the coffee drip freely.

Have had this unit over 2 years, brews hot and does great

I have had mine for about 6 years and I use it every day. I just broke the glass carafe so I was looking for a replacement one here. Great idea, removing the spring valve so the generic carafe from the store fits. Thank you! Now I don't need to buy a whole new coffee maker.

I received this coffeemaker as part of the company's introductory offer. Thus far, my daughter and I both enjoy it. Pouring in the water is a bit of a challenge sometimes, but it is no worse than some other coffeemakers. I have not had problems with grounds in my coffee. I use Gevalia's organic coffee, which has not been bitter at all. I am hoping the quality of the coffeemaker will be demonstrated by its length of service-several years. We will see! My one concern is that the company no longer offers a replacement carafe. I did find one that fits on-line.

Nice while it lasted, didn't last long

We make coffee about 3-4 times a month. We have had this coffee maker for a little over a year, so it has been used under 50 times. While it does have some excellent features, such as the auto-brew and auto off, the last 5-6 times we have used the coffee maker, the grounds somehow end up overflowing into the coffee. Not what you expect in the bottom of your cup, a bunch of grounds. We have cleaned it out with vinegar and water and it doesn't make a difference. I can't imagine how long this machine would last in a household that uses it every day!

Got one of these as a freebe a few years ago, but never used it, till the other day and coffee mach. makes the brew taste like nasty plastic flavor and smell, (out of warranty ), too bad !

I have owned this coffee maker for more years than I can count,( at least 6) and I use it if not every day , every other. I find that when I overfill the basket with coffee grounds it does overflow so I am careful and it still makes a perfect cup of coffee. It is honestly the best coffee maker I have ever purchased. Love everything about this except that it likes to leak coffee grounds into my coffee YUCK! A simple solution is one of the fine mesh metal washable filters. I got my maker back from my sis minus the filter :( But otherwise, awesome!!! I have the black & love how it matches everything else in my kitchen!

I received this coffee maker 5 years ago free with coffee order. This coffee maker has been great and is just now not staying warm. I give this pot a top rating. I have a comment about filling up the water, if yu pour to fast on any coffee maker you will spill the water. Get a glass or large cup and fill it up use what ever works. I love mine

I purchased a Stainless Coffee Maker from Gevalia five or six years ago and LOVED it! I only purchased a new one (this one) because my son accidentally dumped some coffee grounds in the water reservoir and I could never get them all out. So, I bought this one, thinking it's be just as good. Boy was I was wrong. The "improvements" they have made, aren't really improvements at all!
1. The old filter basket was far better. It had a handle for pulling it out of the coffee maker and had a flat bottom so you could set it on the counter when filling it with coffee grounds.
2. The old top had a separate flap you opened to pour water into the reservoir. With the new design, you have to open the entire top which causes the water, which has accumulated on the inside of the lid, to pour down the back of the coffee maker and onto the counter. So, every time you make a pot of coffee, you have to clean up the water behind the coffee maker.
3. With the old carafe, when you pulled it out while the coffee was still brewing, the coffee would stop coming out until you put the carafe back in. With the new one, it drips unless the pot has completely finished brewing. And, yes, I am making sure the filter basket is in fully and the correct direction, it still drips every time.
4. This lid design on the carafe causes water (when filling the reservoir) and coffee (when pouring into a mug) to run down the front of the pot onto the counter. I have found that you have to pour VERY slowly to prevent this. I have been drinking and pouring coffee for over 15 years now, and have NEVER had a carafe do that.
Bottom line: I would NOT purchase this coffee maker again. If I could get another one just like my last one, I would buy it again in a heartbeat!!

We have been using the same model the DharmonsChick had before her son dropped it for over five years and I love the coffee it makes.
I didn't even realize you could take the carafe out while the coffee was still brewing and the drip would automatically stop. We have always waited till the end of the brewing cycle.
I will likely not use this feature anyway as I believe the coffee changes strength as the water filters through the grounds and taking a cup out early in the cycle would affect the overall strength.
I have always bragged about the coffee we make and have had numerous compliments about how good it is from friends as well.

loved it while it worked

It has been about 14 months and my beloved coffee maker has died. It was not over used, i seldomely used it. My husband plugged it up to brew us some coffee and it did not turn on. No lights came on, it did not make a sound. :~(
